5 reasons why Humanode is excited about Catacomb Crawlers

As the day of the private hybrid funding round of Catacomb Crawlers nears, we thought it would be a good time to review what Catacomb Crawlers means to Humanode and why the Humanode team is excited about it.

Reason 1: Catacomb Crawlers is the first major project to deploy on the Humanode chain. They are also one of the first teams backed by Humanode’s $10M Ecosystem Funding Program, meaning they are part of the “Humanode Family”.

Reason 2: Catacomb Crawlers was not only built by Gamers for Gamers, the devs are industry veterans from League of Legends, Valorant, and Mobile Legends, games that thrive on balance, polish, and competitive depth.  The graphics for Catacomb Crawlers are amazing, the gameplay is smooth, and it is an addictive game that you keep going back to, both for 15-minute breaks and non-stop marathons.  And on top of that, Catacomb Crawlers isn’t “just another mobile roguelike.” It’s a bold fusion of roguelike survival, PvP adrenaline, esports-level competition, and Web3 player ownership.  Oh, and yes, since most of the Humanode Core are also gamers, we couldn’t pass on this opportunity to be part of this exciting project.

Reason 3: The marketplace uses Humanode biometric verification to block bots, making the market secure and fair.   Why is this important?  Well, the Catacomb Crawler’s marketplace was designed to enhance gameplay, not exploit it.  Biometrically verified users can buy, sell, or trade heroes, gear, shards, companions, runes, potions, and cosmetic items. Every asset ties back into the game’s progression, so speculation doesn’t overshadow fun, and bots don’t flood the market.  Another noteworthy feature of the Catacomb Crawlers marketplace is the 10% transaction fee that is placed on trades.  This transaction fee is funneled into tournament rewards, ensuring active players benefit directly, creating a closed, sustainable economy that fuels competition and keeps rewards circulating within the community

Reason 4: As mentioned in reason 3, there will be tournaments and more.  Catacomb Crawlers is more than a single-player grind; it’s a social ecosystem built around competition. Ongoing tournaments run like activity loops, where completing daily quests, sharing content, and engaging with the community can earn rewards. The Top 100 players are recognized with exclusive prizes, ensuring there’s always an aspirational goal. Future expansions will introduce 1v1 duels, 3v3 team fights, PvP Tower Defense, and even offline competitive events. This tournament model is designed not only to keep competitive players invested but also to foster organic community growth by rewarding participation, referrals, and social engagement.  In short, this game will stay exciting, it will grow, and evolve along with the player community.

Reason 5: We believe that Catacomb Crawlers will be one of the dawnbreakers to launch Humanode into the stratosphere and will become one of the boosters that will help Humanode achieve true decentralization. The reasoning is simple. Catacomb Crawlers has the potential to reach millions of users. And that is only a very low estimate to be on the safe side.  Now, remember the marketplace? Every single transaction that Catacomb Crawlers users make is made on the Humanode chain.  Naturally, this will increase the fees that land in the Humanode treasury. This will increase payouts to validators. In turn, this will increase the number of validators, as we will be able to pay more validators. And yes, the more validators, the more decentralization.
