Welcome to the Humanode Biweekly! This edition brings you the latest information on recent developments, new integrations, publications, events, and everything unfolding in our ecosystem. Here’s what’s happening!
On October 10th, 2024, we carried out a scheduled reset and upgrade of the biometric servers for CVMs. This routine maintenance happens every six months, during which all stored biometric data is erased, and the servers are updated. If you are a human node validator, you must re-enroll and re-authenticate to keep your node active, as long as your Substrate address remains the same. This update also provides an opportunity for those who have lost their keys, want to change their Substrate address, or previously linked an incorrect Discord account to correct these details.
Furthermore, BotBasher has now been upgraded to Ge5, and the servers have been reset. Generation 4 roles are now obsolete, so server administrators on Discord need to establish new roles based on Gen5 BotBasher requirements. On the Humanode Discord server, you can now re-verify your identity. Be mindful to connect your biometrics to the correct Discord account, as changes can only be made during the next six-month reset cycle.
We’ve also upgraded and restarted the biometric servers for Humanode Biostaker. LP stakers and community members need to complete a biomap to claim rewards. The update does not influence your staking balances, but biomapping is necessary to access your rewards.
The great news is that we are excited to announce our Ecosystem Funding and Incubation Program designed to nurture Sybil-resistant projects on our network. This initiative will support five projects aimed at boosting human user adoption, with the first already underway. This program is central to the growth of the Humanode ecosystem, leveraging our Sybil-resistant technology to drive real engagement and adoption.
Catacomb Crawlers is the first project funded by our $10 million Ecosystem Funding Program, aimed at attracting genuine, unique users through our Sybil-resistant technology. Catacomb Crawlers is a mobile roguelike survival game that incorporates in-game NFTs and a marketplace secured by Humanode’s Biomapper technology to prevent Sybil attacks on rewards. Players are required to verify their human identity when trading in-game tokens for assets or other rewards. The game is designed to offer high-quality gameplay mechanics that bridge Web2 and Web3 audiences. Emeroth Studio also plans to fully integrate its future projects with the Humanode chain, establishing a long-term collaboration.
We recently hosted a special Fireside chat with Catacomb Crawlers' Co-founder Florin Mitu and CMO Alex Carbunariu, alongside Humanode Co-founder Dato. They discussed the development of the game and its integration as the first Sybil-resistant project within the Humanode network. The conversation offered valuable insights into the game’s development and its potential impact on both the Humanode ecosystem and the broader Web3 gaming industry.

🚨 Regular Biometric Servers Update and Reset
There was a reset to the biometrics servers for CVM and biometrics upgrades on Thursday, October 10th, 2024. This is a regular update scheduled every six months, during which we wipe all the biometric data stored and update our servers. So, if you are a human node, you’ll not lose the longevity of running your node as long as you don't change your substrate address and re-enroll and re-authenticate within 1 to 2 hours after the reset.
On the bright side, this is a perfect opportunity for those who lost their keys or want to change to a Substrate address to run a node on the Humanode network and for those who accidentally connected a wrong Discord account for unique human verification.
The biometric servers have been updated, and have been rebooted. Please re-enroll and re-authenticate to ensure that your node continues to run seamlessly without missing an epoch.
Keep in mind that you do not need to rotate the keys but you must re-enroll.
One other thing to note is that this update of the biometric servers will not affect BotBasher verification, and all previous encrypted biometric data is deleted forever during this process.

🤖 BotBasher has been updated to Gen5
BotBasher has been updated to Gen5 and the server has been reset. Gen4 roles are deprecated and can no longer be obtained.
For everything to work smoothly, the server administrator of your Discord will need to create a new role based on the latest generation i.e. Gen5 BotBasher.
Some servers may not update immediately. For those on the Humanode Discord server, you can go ahead and become a verified Human again.
As a note, this one verification process will be good for all Gen5 Discord Servers, and you will just need to tie your freshly verified account to the new role on all servers supporting Liveness active Gen5.
To do next:
1. Server admins - prepare new roles (or tweak and update current roles). Check this article out to see how to do it.
2. Users/Everyone else - claim your new roles! (i.e. Go to linked roles, and select your role (in the case of Humanode, Verified Human)). It is important to remember that you can only tie your biometrics to ONE Discord account. If you tie it to the wrong account, well, you will have to wait 6 months for the next reset.
Biomapper servers update and reset
LP stakers and community, the biometric servers for Humanode Biostaker have been updated and rebooted. Please Biomap to make sure you can claim your rewards.
Keep in mind, that this update doesn't affect your stakes in any way, however, you must Biomap to be able to claim your rewards.
One other thing to note is that this update of the biometric servers will not affect BotBasher verification, and all previous encrypted biometric data is deleted forever during this process.

🎮Catacomb Crawlers is launching as the first Sybil-resistant game under Humanode incubation
Developed by Emeroth Studio, the team that worked on League of Legends, Valorant, Heroes of Newerth, and Final Fantasy, the game attracted 240K+ downloads during its beta just through Web2 marketing.
Catacomb Crawlers, a mobile roguelike survival, will be the first game to launch on the Humanode chain integrating in-game NFTs, marketplace, and utilizing Humanode’s biomapper to combat Sybil attacks on rewards.
Players will only need to prove they are unique real humans when they enter the marketplace to trade tokens for in-game assets or other rewards.
The game stands out not just because of its mechanics but also because of its quality. It’s just good—better than any Web2 competitor in its genre. And with its ability to attract Web2 gamers into a Web3 environment, it could lead the way for a new era of Web3 games. And it all starts here with Humanode.
Beyond this launch, Emeroth Studio plans to fully adopt the Humanode chain for its future projects, making Catacomb Crawlers the start of a long-term collaboration.

The 5th chapter of the Humanode-inspired dystopian novel by Shannon Higgins, 2067 -the equilibrium - has arrived. The Book of Aki will take you into District 12, the center of technology and the ongoing hidden battle between the Community and the Conglomerates, who seem to secretly acquired the help of one of the supposedly “neutral” Awakened AIs to initiate an attack on the network at an unprecedented scale.
Last weekend, Part 4/4 of The Book of Aki dropped, the final section of The Book of Aki, the 5th chapter of the Humanode-inspired dystopian novel, 2067 -the equilibrium- written by the Humanode Media Team lead Shannon Higgins. Not only is the largest attack in the Community history pounding down, unknown to Aki, but they have less than 6 hours before the world they had built may come to an end… or at least be cut off from the rest of the world. Tetsuro cannot stop grinning, as his dream is finally coming true…
