TL;DR
Human nodes, it’s time for your biweekly update—here’s everything you need to know about the latest developments, new events, and exciting updates in the Humanode ecosystem!
First up, it’s been two years since the launch of the Humanode mainnet, and what a journey it’s been. On November 15th, 200 pioneers took the leap, validating the network with nothing but their biometrics and setting the stage for a revolutionary, Sybil-resistant consensus mechanism. Fast forward to today: 10 million blocks, hundreds of thousands of transactions, 2 million bioverifications, and no Sybil nodes. 1600 real humans are running, owning, and sharing the network fees equally. We’ve come a long way, but the next two years are even more exciting. Imagine 10,000+ Human nodes, a thriving Vortex DAO, Sybil-resistant LP staking, and the launch of CVM 2.0. The future looks bright.
The Humanode dev team has been working hard, bringing a series of updates to life. The development of BotBasher for Telegram is nearing completion, with only the final steps remaining before its release. Meanwhile, progress on cross-chain biomapping is actively underway.
In the integration space, things are heating up. Analog knows BotBasher’s the real deal for Sybil resistance, so they added a custom quest on Intract to bring BotBasher in as Proof of Uniqueness. Prove you’re human, snag the BotBasher Discord role with a 99% humanity score, mint the humanity medallion, and pick up those bonus points at the finish line. Analog’s got Sybil resistance covered.
On the event front, the first-ever Humanodecon 2024 is coming up in Istanbul on December 7-8, and it’s going to be an experience like no other. Packed with debate games, DAO simulators, and lectures on economics and cybernetics, this is where the future of decentralization will be discussed in real life. Get ready to step into the DAO Simulator game, where you’ll take the role of a governor navigating the complexities of decentralized management. It’s not just a conference, it’s a chance to experience decentralized governance first-hand. And don’t forget—if you want in, make sure to get on the whitelist here.
For the curious minds, we’ve also been publishing new thought pieces. Humanode CVM for Verifiable Data Processing dives into how verifiable proofs can ensure secure, user-protected data handling across industries like healthcare, finance, and logistics. Plus, the final chapter of The Book of Jack of the dystopian novel 2067 - the equilibrium inspired by Humanode—has just been released. It sees Jack and Mami reflecting on the evolution of the Vortex, now running for over 40 years. With cyberattacks looming and new ideas on the horizon, this gripping tale is not to be missed. Catch up on the full journey here.
And finally, for those new to the ecosystem, we’ve got a cool breakdown of how epochs work in Humanode. It’s a quick and fun guide to understanding how our 4-hour epochs ensure fairness, from random validator selection to the waiting game for new validators.
Stay tuned for more updates—exciting developments are in the pipeline, and we can’t wait to share what’s next!
Main News
🎉2 years from Humanode mainnet
Two years ago, in November, 200 pioneers began to validate the Humanode network with nothing more than their biometrics, marking history by running a novel consensus mechanism not reliant on either capital or mining equipment.
Here we are. 10M blocks, hundreds of thousands transactions, and 2M bioverifications later without a single Sybil node deployed on the chain. With 1600 real unique humans running, owning and sharing the network fees equally. BotBasher, Biomapper on EVM, Sybil-resistant LP staking and CVM 2.0.
What will there be in another two years?
10,000+ Human nodes, a working democratic, egalitarian Vortex DAO, a Fath mechanism for equal emission distribution, SR gate for stable web 2/3 Sybil-resistant accounts and so much more!
Development
🛠️Our dev team has been firing on all cylinders, and we’re thrilled to share some cool new updates:
- BotBasher for Telegram is in active development. Final steps remain. Release soon.
- Cross-chain biomapping is underway.

🤓 DAO Simulator on Humanodecon 2024
Ever wondered what it’s like to run a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) in a one person - one vote environment? How about simulating it?
And for this purpose, we propose the DAO Simulator Game, where you step into the role of a governoooor, navigating the highs, lows, and surprises that come with decentralized management of a blockchain-based project.
We will be playing the DAO Simulator on Humanodecon 2024: every visitor will take part in managing a democratic DAO!
For details on how the game will be played, read this article.
🗣 First speakers announced
One of the key sessions? Humanode co-founder Victor's talk:
A global financial shift: How the current financial system emerged and what a Humanode-powered future could look like.
🫂 Ecosystem Funding Program
The cat's out of the bag: the Humanode Ecosystem Funding and Incubation Program is live! We're backing five projects focused on unique human user adoption, each powered by Sybil-resistant tech on our chain. The first project is already feeling the love from human nodes, and there’s more to come.
Learn more about the incubation program here.
🎮Catacomb Crawlers is launching as the first Sybil-resistant game under Humanode incubation
Catacomb Crawlers, a mobile roguelike survival, will be the first game to launch on the Humanode chain integrating in-game NFTs, marketplace, and utilizing Humanode’s biomapper to combat Sybil attacks on rewards.
Players will only need to prove they are unique real humans when they enter the marketplace to trade tokens for in-game assets or other rewards.
Ready to try Catacomb Crawlers? You can download it here [Google Play, Apple Store].
🔺Meet the Minds Behind Catacomb Crawlers and Their Vision for Sybil Resistance Gaming
The Humanode community and mobile gaming industry have been abuzz with the news of Catacomb Crawlers joining the Humanode ecosystem, bringing the world’s first Sybil-resistant mobile game!
Sure, there’s a lot of focus on how this could change the status quo and if it will become the game that shifts the Web3 space - but before we start speculating, let’s talk about the most important question - who are the people behind Catacomb Crawlers?
So, we simply decided to sit down with Florin Mitu (Co-founder) and Alex Carbunariu (CMO) to find out.

🔺Humanode CVM for Verifiable Data Processing
If you’re handling sensitive user data – whether in healthcare, finance, or logistics – how do you reassure users that their information is truly safe and used exactly as it should be?
Humanode CVMs let you prove that user data is secure and only used as intended by providing verifiable proofs instead of just words.
Find out how verifiable trust can change everything:
🔺2067 -the equilibrium
Last week, the final installment of The Book of Jack, the 6th chapter of the Humanode-inspired dystopian novel, 2067 -the equilibrium- written by the Humanode Media Team lead Shannon Higgins, arrived.
In this part of The Book of Jack, Jack and Mami find themselves talking about Jack’s experience in D7, and his first impression of the Vortex, which by this time has been running for 40+ years, as the foundation of Liquid Democracy. But like many things, after 40+ years, tweaking may be needed…
As the cyber attack on D6 commences in the background, Jack and Mami are rushed back to D7. Jack comes up with some ideas that might help him, the project he works with, and the community, but little does he know, others have plans too.
Grab your cup of coffee, find a comfortable seat, and dig in.
If you haven't started the journey yet, it's never too late. Begin here: 2067: The Equilibrium.
