Humanode Testnet v3 - “Ramiel” to Go Live

Hello, human nodes!

The Humanode Core team is happy to announce that Testnet v3 - “Ramiel” will be launching on May 31st!

Ramiel will be the next major step towards the launch of the Humanode Mainnet this summer, and we will be focusing on brushing up the system, moving from permissioned Proof of Authority where nodes are supposed to trust each other, to a trustless permissionless system, and bringing EVM-compatibility to the Humanode testnet.

Some of the protocol-level features that will be coming live upon release of Ramiel are moving from Aura to BABE block production engine and GRANDPA for block finalization. Ethereum Virtual Machine compatibility will enable Solidity smart contracts on the Humanode chain. Users will also be able to analyze their node activities in polkadot.js explorer: from bioauth status to block production and finalization. Detailed information will be provided shortly!

Naturally, builders will be able to deploy and test their bio-auth enabled Dapps on the Humanode testnet. The upcoming Hackathon will be a great chance to work with both the chain and the biometric authorization service and gain rewards for your efforts!

The setup process for launching nodes will also be going through a major overhaul, but other than some changes in the UX/UI, most of the major changes will be under the hood.

Ramiel is also scheduled to have a number of (highly anticipated) minor upgrades in the upcoming months.

Once testnet v2 is concluded, we will provide some detailed analytics of the path we have taken so far.

Ramiel will be open to all to test, but in order to test how well BABE and GRANDPA perform as we scale the network. This means, we will be setting up a sign-up page, and invitations will go out in batches of 50 to 100.

As a final note, we would like to present the participants of testnet v1 “Sachiel” with a token of our gratitude as they were the first ones that were able to find, believe and deploy first-ever human nodes.   If you were a testnet participant from testnet v1, we will be providing you with a link (shortly) so that you can claim the fire crystal. Their amount will be limited by the number of participants in the testnet 1. By claiming it you will be able to claim to have been in the first generation of human nodes. Naturally, the enthusiasm of the Humanode community and our testnet human nodes is likely to inspire the other elements of nature to show their gratitude in the future too.
