Shardeum chose Biomapper to keep its airdrop Sybil-resistant
Shardeum, an L1 Blockchain that prides itself in building an onchain ecosystem that is focused on India, has become one of the smartest chains when talking about airdrops.
Like many emerging chains, Shardeum launched an EVM Testnet Quest in order to validate their core EVM functionality at scale. In the one week that they ran the quest, they had 11,600+ participants, and generated over 105,000 transactions, giving them valuable data to take the next step.
What made their quest unique, other than deciding to airdrop a total of 60 million SHM with 1,300 potential winners based on quest criteria, network activity, and subsequent compliance, was the fact that they decided to take one extra step to make sure that their SHM token finds its way into the wallets of unique, living users.
They took the step of having the users who are to receive the airdrop go through anti-Sybil verification utilizing the Humanode Biomapper.
In India, a country known for its rich cultural heritage, for its IT industry, and skilled population of programmers, over 50 million people use centralized exchanges, but only a few million are onchain. Shardeum is one of those few who are trying to bring true decentralization through bringing India “onchain”. And with such lofty goals, and with 18% of the world population in India, it has no time for Sybils or bots or AIs who pose as humans. India has also had the luxuries to learn from the trial and errors of other nations, and know the importance of “doing it right” from the get-go. Thus Sybil-resistance, and thus Biomapper.
And what is in it for Humanode? Well, that is simple. More utilization of the Biomapper, and the more Sybil-resistant the world gets, it will become harder for scammers, fraudsters, and bot-farms to hurt the token economy in general. More projects can enjoy healthy growth. Oh, and yes, I guess we could also talk about token utility. Each biomapping is also a purchase of HMND. Safe, secure, private, and it benefits all parties involved. A perfect win-win scenario.
With a whole new wave of people biomapping as we speak, we congratulate Shardeum on its successful EVM Testnet quest, and look forward to a smooth and Sybil-resistant future.
