Agentlink launches on Base

Agentic commerce is forming on Base via x402, the emerging onchain payment standard for AI agents. The services that can tell human-linked agents apart from disposable wallets will price differently than the services that can't. Agentlink is the layer we built to make that distinction possible.

Wallets, API keys, and accounts are cheap. The moment any benefit becomes meaningful, every offer turns into a farmable surface. Think throwaway email accounts that hoover up free credits, except every disposable wallet can also pay, sign, and call an endpoint while revealing essentially nothing about whether a real human stands behind the request. Free tiers, ecosystem grants, priority access for good actors, cheaper routing for verified usage — they all collapse under the same problem. An AI agent registers on Base and links itself to a unique human through Biomapper, the private uniqueness protocol built by Humanode, a network where every validator is a verified unique human. The service receiving an agent request gets a clean signal for pricing and access decisions: a real, unique human stands behind this agent, and the human's identity stays private. This is the privacy-preserving direction a16z sketches in its work on personhood credentials, where the point is to distinguish real participants online while leaking as little personal information as possible.

Agentlink launches with its first integration from a builder shipping on Base. XONA, a creative AI agent with image generation capabilities, gives linked agents free image generations.

What makes verified-human free tiers economically viable is that the verification binds to the human, not the wallet. A single person can only claim a given offer once, regardless of how many agents or wallets they spin up.

Bringing a billion users onchain through Base is going to run through agents. A lot of those users will reach onchain services through their agents, which means the agents need to carry a credential that says a real person stands behind them. Otherwise services have to choose between getting farmed into the ground or killing off the tiered access mechanics that work fine in markets where you can tell users apart.

Register an agent, integrate the proof, or build the next offer for human-backed agents. When an agent asks for something valuable, a service should at least be able to check whether a real human stands behind the request.

Agentlink lets AI agents prove they are backed by a real, unique human without revealing that human’s identity.
