If you were an upcoming L2 developer that fancied to develop applications on the Ethereum L1 chain, you would soon find yourself stuck in a conundrum. The fees on Ethereum L1 are just too expensive, and no one would be able to afford the use of them. So, like everybody else, you are forced to deploy your applications on rollups to make them affordable to users. But now, you are stuck again. Which rollup do you want to develop and deploy on? Afterall, there are a lot of rollups out there, and there are even more to come! What good is it if you are only able to access a very limited number of users that are accessible through the rollup you select?
This is where Omni network plays an important role. You see, Omni designed a blockchain protocol that is as close to the Core Ethereum protocol as possible, utilizes a network of Ethereum validators who are restaking $ETH via EigenLayer to provide security for messages relayed across rollups, which in turn allows developers to securely build global applications that become available across all Ethereum rollups. In short, with Omni, developers can make their applications accessible across all rollups, giving them access to more users, helping them grow their products faster.
Naturally, Omni has a vibrant Discord community, with various tiers of users. The higher the tier of users, the more information accessible, better opportunities, higher compensation, and the more that they can do.
For the first few tiers, such as Scouts and Rangers, anyone can become one. But as you climb the ladder, and say you want to become a Guardian or above, they will be manually selected based on their contributions and all. And naturally, as any serious network and community that takes security and privacy seriously, Sybil-resistance also becomes a key.
This is where Humanode’s BotBasher comes into play. Omni has joined the family, and will be utilizing BotBasher’s private and secure bio-authentication to ensure that there is a living being behind those users that are serious about climbing the ladder in the Omni Discord Community.
Omni Discord community members can now get the “Verified human” role by simply going through a 15-second confidential facial scan without KYC to prove they are unique and living human beings. And no, don’t worry, your biometric data is private, and not accessible to Humanode, nor Omni.
Although this is not a requirement for those who just want to casually hang out in the Omni Discord server, it will become a key to climb the ladder!
Here is how you can become a Verified Human via BotBasher.
- Click on the server name, "Omni Network".
- Navigate to "Linked Roles."
- Select "Verified Humans."
- Proceed by following the on-screen instructions to complete your identity verification using a 15 second confidential facial scan (Note: No documents are needed, but make sure you are accessing from the Discord Account you want to verify! Only one Discord account may be tied to your face! If you tie a wrong account to your face, there is no turning back until the periodic BotBasher server reset when all data is wiped).
- Once done, the "Verified Humans" role will be auto-assigned to you upon successful verification.
Omni, with Humanode's BotBasher, aims to prioritize real human interactions in the digital world. In a world filled with noise and fake identities, We prioritize interaction with real voices from real developers and real participants in the community. At the same time, We very much care about user privacy. With Omni joining hands with Humanode’s BotBasher, the Omni community will be able to get the best of both worlds!
The Omni Network is a layer 1 blockchain built to connect all rollups. Using Omni, developers can build global applications that are available across all rollups. Secured through restaking $ETH, Omni is a next-generation blockchain leading the frontier in both security and functionality.
Omni is backed by $18M from prominent investors such as Pantera Capital, Two Sigma Ventures and Jump Crypto.
Humanode is the first crypto-biometric network that provides Sybil resistance to web3 projects using private facial recognition. It can prove that one person has only one address or one account in a certain context. With no KYC needed or personally identifiable information collected, the process takes around 1 minute. Humanode is an EVM-compatible Layer-1 based on one person = one node = one vote principle.
BotBasher is a Discord integration by Humanode. It links a Discord account to a verified human identity through confidential facial recognition. Each user will be able to verify and get a role for one account, proving that there is an actual unique behind that account. Works natively with Galxe, Zealy, and QuestN.
